We started at Rice University: a senior design team that built a cold spray metal 3D printer—using pressure and velocity instead of heat to deposit metal. What began as a capstone project proved out the idea: we deposited copper with a prototype built for under $5,000, won Excellence in Capstone Engineering, first place in the Willy Revolution Award for Outstanding Innovation, and the Hershel M. Rich Invention Award.

Now we’re turning that research into something bigger. AeroForge is focused on making cold spray additive manufacturing practical and affordable—for repair, one-off parts, and supply chain resilience—without the cost and complexity of traditional metal AM.
